WD Passport 1TB Blue

I just got my WD Passport 1TB blue colored today and quite excited to have an another external HDD which is 1TB. There are a lot of official reviews out there and this one isn't about review, just my opinion on the external HDD itself. First of all, WD is a very good product, I have an old WD Ext. HDD, WD Element, 320GB bought around 2008 and it still works great, the downside is that I didn't format the drive in NTFS filesystem making it only accepts 4.2GB maximum single file.

[Review] Sandisk Micro SDXC 64GB UHS-1 Class 10

Recently I bought a Sandisk Micro SDXC 64GB UHS-1 Class 10 for my SGN, since I'm using the old Kingston 2GB micro SD, I thought I'd give it an upgrade, major micro SD card upgrade, the 64GB that is. There are several sources on where you can find this card for quite a low price in the internet. I bought mine from a local seller found in a local forum and he got a good deal for it.

Waiting For Newer Updates

My review is old, since the last rrv2jb ls2 based rom but I am using the lsa stock odexed rom now. There are latest roms, the lsc but there isn't much changes, rather a minor bug fixes I guess. I will hold my review for a newly released rom with a good feature included if any, if there isn't, I won't be posting any reviews or screenshots. The reasons why I do this is because there was a lot of jelly bean released in a very short period.

[Review] Rocket ROM V1 Jelly Bean

Recently I got my hands on the latest Jelly Bean (JB) released by eybee1970 from xda forum, a guy with quite the reputation with his remarkable Rocket ROM series ever since the Gingerbread release. I am quite satisfied with this Rocket ROM v1 JB even though it's just a leak version of JB but it's quite stable, fast and smooth as well.

The downside of this leaked ROM is that there are some apps crashed when opening it and some of them have unexpected behavior. However, getting to this JB leak is not easy due to several apps are force closing like the default music player when playing a music, Samsung keyboard that stays as upper cased when "auto capitalization" are checked and some other apps. Music player can be fixed by patching the system/app file and fix permissions after patched. In overall, this ROM need an experienced user to fix the problem else the phone will stay in a bootloop resulting in need of flashing the ROM again.

Nandroid Backup/Restore procedure in details

This is the information that I've been seeking ever since the ICS has been released back in May. The information regarding these procedure was insufficient and I didn't have the details and clear understanding of doing a nandroid backup/restore procedure while avoiding triggering a brickbug code inside the kernel. Here is the procedure:

Backup (Any ROM):
  1. Use a safe brick free kernel that works with your ROM (Recommended).
  2. Go into CWM.
  3. Do nandroid backup.

Borderlands 2 LAN over internet steam and non-steam

I got my hands on the latest Borderlands 2 and updated it to v1.1.0 and had to rely on Steam to run and you need to have an account to start Steam and run Borderlands 2 as well. I've found some of the workarounds how to play Borderlands 2 in LAN party over the internet (VPN) using this guide.

I don't take any credits for the Borderlands 2 over Hamachi fix/tutorial. Apparently, in order to play Borderlands 2, the other player needs to take note of the Borderlands 2 host's Hamachi IP address and paste it at the back of the destination. Anyway, just follow the links given above and you're good to go.

[Best ROM] Rocket ROM V11

I've been using Rocket ROM (RR) since v7 (RRV7) and I've upgraded to RRV11, the latest ROM released by eybee himself. We all watched how the Galaxy Note 2 performed in the video below and this RRV11 has part of Galaxy Note 2 as well, but of course, not all the features, maybe about 5 to 10% only I think or maybe Samsung really overhauled the stock ROM.

I'm not a professional ROM flasher or have a good internet so I only stick to Rocket Rom and kinda stuck with it, not going to stock ROM to avoid bricks but I loved this RRV11.

How to avoid Brick when flashing on GT-N7000

This is some old news for some professional ROM flashers and some might not know anything. Here I make things simple how to avoid bricking your phone, GT-N7000 when flashing ICS ROM. Follow any methods below depending on what ROM you are now.

Connect to Win2k file sharing from Win 7

I got trouble of connecting to the shared folder from Win2k recently from my laptop, Win7. I found this guide below on how to successfully connect to the server.

Click the start button and type secpol.msc in the search function.
Browse to "Local Policies" -> "Security Options".  Now look for the entry "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" and open it.  Click on the dropdown menu and select "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated".  Apply the settings.

Reason for bricking for ICS on GT-N7000

The rumor of bricking their phone when flashing ICS on N7000 (SGN) is absolutely true. So far I've only heard 3 people bricked their phone during the flashing process. There are several kernels out there and the most dangerous kernel is CF-ROOT KERNEL produced by ChainFire due to a bug in I/O codes (I think). This doesn't mean that flashing CF-ROOT kernel will brick the phone. It's just that there are no other compatible kernel can be paired with the current official ICS released. Here are some points to avoid bricking the phone during the flashing and what to do and what not.

Authentic Relationship

When I was waiting for the time to fly by about 2 hours left, decided to go into Times Bookstore in 1Borneo, Kota Kinabalu to read some books. I stumbled across into one of the books that isn't my interests at all, self-help (I think), the title is; Authentic Relationship from Inside Out by Sarah Abell published 2009.

Sum all digits in single cell on Excel

There are a lot of methods out there but the simplest methods to use is invoking a new vba script (msoffice2007+). The data that I need to calculate before was to sum up all of the digits in date format. This can be done once the data has been converted into integer. This is my method of converting the date and dividing them into several columns.

Official ICS for GT-N7000

The official ICS ROM for Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) has finally been released with the version of XXLPY. I've tested the ROM myself and pretty much satisfied especially with the new S-Note application included. For N7000 users who wished to update their phone to this very first ICS ROM, can follow these links below

New Features On DXLC2 For SGN

I know I'm late to give some new features that dxlc2 has, but its better than nothing at all. I' successfully flashed this new rom with no issues at all compared with the previous dxlc2 deodexed version by "as i9000" from the infamous xda developer forum. This rom i'm using right now is the stock odexed rom updated by "dr. Ketan", from xda forum as well and keeping the viewer updated of official and latest rom except the leaked ics rom from China.

ICS Theme On SGN

I tried the ICS domination this morning along with the stock deodexed lb1 rom by substancer and full wipe as well, the theme really did work out with the stock deodexed but not the power tweaked version made by him as well. I noticed something there's also jkay mod included and thats the reason behind the problem I faced last time, stuck in a bootloop. The color has been improved especially the text background making the color has more contrast in it. I reverted back to the previous rom by backing up the stock deodexed with ICS domination theme not because i hate how it looked like, it's because I'm going to wait for the official ICS premium suite.

I just came across with a video about the Official ICS for Galaxy Note which has been postponed to Q2 2012, could be released on April to June. Here is some teaser about ICS for Galaxy Note

There's another one!!

Yellow Triangle

I found a fastest way to root the phone without having to downgrade the firmware, simply just having to flash the kernel from Odin v1.85 with Abyssnote 4.2. I did it asap in order for me to gain the root and CWM back and it was a success.

Deodexed 2.3.6 xxlb1 tweaked + ICS Domination

I flashed the ICS Domination theme for all kinds of deodexed rom for Galaxy Note but ended up in a bootloop, I didn't do any full wipe before, but after i noticed the bootloop. It failed to go into the system, I'm stuck with the bootloop state. Luckily I found a way to revert back by using Odin v1.85 to revert back to xxla3 but lost all data, but I did back up my previous rom before the ICS Domination flash.

Nillkin Tpu Case For Galaxy Note

I bought a tpu case set for my galaxy note from a thread in lowyat forum, it's quite cheap considering the package offered by the seller; tpu case, screen protector and shipping costs Here are the pictures regarding the tpu case sets

Some interesting activity in Likas Sport Complex

The main reason why I came here is to check out the new RC tracks as KS Chu told me in Facebook based on his picture he posted yesterday. Luckily it can be recognized easily based on the picture and the spot is on the parking lot that is reserved for some activities there.

Event trigger in KK Observation Tower

Firstly, I decided to go Jaring main office in Likas Square to ask about their service and how it works. Done that before 4PM and head over to the Observation Tower because I've never been there,
